Sometimes warm and soothing, sometimes bitter and cool, this is my small place to sift through the grounds. Inside this blog, I'll discuss my thoughts on odd stories, big stories, and perhaps a little bit about me and my aspirations. Writers, baseball fans, beer lovers, musicians, and opinionated fools like myself, welcome.

Chapter 68.1: Pizza!
I don't want to suggest that by feeding the blogger (and his wife), anyone can get words of thanks on the blog. But I do want to thank Cammy and Frank for their generous gift of pizza from Chicago. (Oh yeah, I believe there were cheesecakes, too, though I've not actually seen them. ;-) The package arrived at a perfect time -- as you know, Cammy -- and our cat is pleased to have another sturdy box to play in. By the way, the photo to the side is not the actual pizza (or beer, for that matter), just an incredible facsimile.

Well I'm holding you to that promise of bringing that gorgeous wife of yours to Chicago herself to taste the wonderous treats this town has to offer....and there's much more then pizza!
Enjoy the pizza, which we consider to be a little slice of midwestern "paradise"...oh and if you don't get a piece of thecheesecake.....you'll just have to take her word for it how wonderful that indulgence is!! (wink)...
Go Cubs (& that's a lot coming from a White Sox fan)...
That's akin to a Mets fan like me rooting for the Yankees. (Don't hold your breath for that one.) I'm a bit disappointed that Zambrano got pulled a little early, but as Piniella said, a team that only scores one run on four hits isn't likely to win anyway.
Ok Matt...now whats their excuse (Cubs)...losing that 2nd game was inexcusable...our ONLY plan now is to have them back at home giving them the some advantage? I think they are choking under the pressure! As for Lou pulling Zambrano-as so many have pointed out-he's done it before. I personally think the Billy Goat has gotten to them again!
Well, it could be that they're not quite as good as the Diamondbacks. But this isn't quite as bad as being three games down in a seven-gave series. Only one ignoble team has suffered that embarassment. (snicker!)
