Did the NFL referees really need to change their uniforms? What is the reason for the new look? They look more like zebras than they did before. Change can be good, but this was just a waste.

I believe they want the refs to actually look like zebras. The uniform change was the interim step to ease the refs into the new uniform. Next year they will need to wear a full uniform with two refs per suit. It will give new meaning to the "back judge" position.
